Key Notices
First Holy Communions: On Saturdays 6th and 13th June, the children made their First Holy Communion at Holy Rosary and at St John’s. Please keep them and their families in your prayers.
Congratulations to St Paul’s Primary School: The school recently had its Catholic Schools Inspection, and the report had high praise for it. It described St Paul’s as a strong Catholic community where pupils and staff actively celebrate and promote the school’s mission, with a positive, welcoming atmosphere in which every child is nurtured and encouraged. The report also recognised the work of the teachers and support staff, noting their high expectations and their dedication to religious education. We are blessed with dedicated and committed staff and teachers in all our Catholic Schools here in Billingham; our thanks to them all.
Congratulations to Albie Rice: We extend our warmest congratulations to another of our young parishioners, nine-year-old Albie Rice. Amongst his other fundraising achievements, Albie has raised £1,200 for the Children’s Ward at North Tees Hospital. The full story is on the parish website.
A Hundred Years for Ziggy: The web page is now live. Did you have a look? Could you spot yourself?
June, the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Peter’s Pence: A second collection at the end of each Mass this weekend is for Peter’s Pence, which supports the Holy Father’s mission across the world, including the proclamation of the Gospel, integral human development, education, peace and brotherhood among peoples, and the work of the many departments of the Holy See. Peter’s Pence began in England in 725 AD, when King Ina of the West Saxons made a pilgrimage to Rome.
CAFOD: A CAFOD coffee morning on Sunday 5th July, after Mass, in the Medway.
Day for Life: On Sunday 21st June we marked the Day for Life under the theme “The Wonder of the Child in the Womb,” which also recognises the loss of children who died before birth and the grief of their parents. The Bishops’ message and prayers are on the Day for Life website at www.dayforlife.org. The Day for Life Fund distributes grants to organisations that promote respect for life from conception until natural death. You can donate online via the website.
