Parish Planning Discussion
This list is how the parish keeps in touch with you. A Mass time that has changed, a service cancelled at short notice, that sort of everyday news comes through it. So does the work Bishop Stephen set in motion when he asked us to plan for the future of our parishes.
A fair number of meetings have taken place since. We took the toolkit the Diocese gave us and worked through the main areas, along with the questions it set out, over several weekends. The first round of returns has gone back to them.
Things carry on from here. More documents will be produced as the process moves into its later stages, and they will keep coming for a while yet.
Announcements, minutes and documents.
There is plenty to keep track of now, the everyday notices as well as the paperwork from the planning meetings. Registering through the form on this page is the simplest way to stay on top of it. Sign up once and the minutes and documents already produced can be sent to you, with anything new sent on automatically as it is released. A short notice, such as a change to Mass times, reaches you the same way. No more hunting round the website or asking who has the latest copy.
The email service is running now. You can add a mobile number as well, though the texting side is not switched on yet. Once it is working, a text will go out alongside the email. Where you can, please choose email. It costs the parish nothing to send. A text will carry a small charge each time we use it.
Not receiving emails: Has a friend mentioned an update that you never received? It is worth a quick check, and the cause is usually simple to put right.
Try registering again with the same details. If a message comes back telling you that you are already on the list, that is the reassurance you are looking for. Your name is saved and the email is being sent to you.
When an email has gone out but not appeared, it has most likely dropped into your spam or junk folder. This is a separate folder your email keeps for messages it is unsure about, and ordinary messages sometimes end up there by mistake. Open it and look for a message from the Parish Team.
If spam and junk folders are new to you, there is no need to worry. A family member will usually find it in a moment. Fr Adrian and the Parish Team are glad to help anyone who would like a hand.
