Our Churches Were Beautiful

Through the lenses of Mary at St. John's and Anne-Marie at Holy Rosary, this montage beautifully chronicles the labour of love that has transformed our two churches for the Christmas season. The images are a vibrant tapestry of preparation and celebration, and you can clearly see the parishioners hard at work in the photos, reaching up to arrange the displays and carefully placing the rich greenery. These scenes showcase the dedicated volunteers who spent hours creating these stunning floral displays. Among these snapshots of active preparation, the spiritual heart of the season is captured perfectly in the lovely shot of Fr Adrian and Paul at the St. John's altar at the start of Mass; they stand framed by the beautiful flowers surrounding them, highlighting the festive atmosphere of the liturgy. Similarly, the image in the bottom left-hand corner is a joy to behold, showing Fr Adrian surrounded by a full team of altar servers, all set against the magnificent floral arrangements that adorn the sanctuary.
The montage also pays tribute to the cherished traditions of the nativity, anchoring the decorations in the true meaning of Christmas. On the far left, the Holy Rosary crib glows with a unique warmth; it is particularly touching to realize that parts of this display were crafted decades ago, carrying the history of the parish within its structure. Across the collage, towards the bottom right, lies the spectacular St. John's crib. The sheer amount of work that went into creating this intricate scene is evident, and it has now been updated to include the Three Kings, who have arrived to complete the scene. Together, these photographs testify to a community that has truly poured its heart into making the churches worthy of the celebration.
